What goes into a new roofing system? The following items are all included as components of our lifetime-warrantied asphalt shingle roofing installations.
Underlayment
We remove the old roof down to the plywood decking and install new roofing felt/tar/synthetic paper for an extra water barrier.
Flashing
Steel, aluminum and/or copper flashing in valleys, around chimneys, skylights, step-flashing, etc to ensure your new roof will never leak.
Pipe Boots & Box Vents
Almost every roof has vent pipes that need to be properly flashed with metal and rubber kits that protect these extrusions from leaking.
Ridge Vent
Installed at the peak (ridge) of your new roofing system. Ridge vent allows hot air and moisture to escape, making your home more energy efficient and your roof more durable.
Drip Edge
Along the perimeter of the new roof we install metal drip-edge flashing - for water run-off management.
Ice & Water Shield
This self-adhering supplemental underlayment is applied to areas that are especially susceptible to ice build-up and wind-driven rain.
Starter Shingles
Along the edge of the roof we install special starter shingles which protect against blow-off from strong winds.
Ridge Cap
Full shingle-over-ridge caps that protect the vent at the peak of your roof. These specially-shaped shingles are designed to keep water out of your ridge's vented opening.
